Mali National Action Plan

Mali adopted its third generation action plan in 2019 for the period 2019-2023. The NAP was developed by the Ministry of Promotion of Women, Children, and Family, with brief involvance of the civil society. The NAP contextualizes 1325 within Mali’s history, with speciafic attention to the importance of the Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) agenda with specific focus on the conflict in the country’s northern region and the growing insecurity in Mali. The NAP speaks to 5 priority areas: preventing gender-based violence and conflict; protecting and rehabilitating victims; increasing women’s representation in peacebuilding; promoting gender and women; and coordinating, monitoring, and assessing identified activities. Each focus areas has objectives tied to the, outcomes, activities, and responsible parties for implementation. The NAP also has an estimated budget, broken down by activity and year of implementation.
