Guinea-Bissau adopted its first-generation National Action Plan in 2010 for the period of 2010 to 2011. The development of the NAP was done by the Comite de Pilotagem National in consultation with Civil Society Organizations and women-led organizations. There are four overarching areas of focus of the NAP is the Prevention, increased participation of women in peace processes and decision-making processes, Protection of women in conflict, and post-conflict. These areas of concentration are in line with the WPS Agenda pillars. Also, the NAP focuses on community relocation, monitoring, and evaluation.
