This Communique stresses the importance of concerted efforts in creating inclusive societies and ensuringparticipation of women and youth in decision-making processes related to peace, securityand development.

The African Union Peace and Security Council (PSC) of the African Union (AU) held its 1040th meeting at the Ministerial level, on the Report of the Chairperson of the Commission on Continental Efforts in Preventing and Combating of Terrorism and Violent Extremism in Africa

This communique condemns all acts of terrorism and violent extremism on the Continent, particularlythe indiscriminate killing of innocent people, the killing of peacekeepers, recruitment and the use of rape and sexual abuse against women and children.
